A film about chance, grief and loneliness.

A meeting by chance. That was how I met Maria. Her closeness and her trust made her story and our story get stuck in my head. Now, I am embarking on a trip through memories, going back to what she told me. Her words make me return unexpectedly to a place, a space where nothing is the same anymore, a place completely invaded by memories. The reflection of his absence.

Reapropiacions del cinema domèstic

As part of the “Reappropriations of Home Movies” programme, Vínculo was screened at La Filmoteca Valenciana, alongside La Casa Oberta (Julieta Lasarte) and The Maelstrom: A Family Chronicle (Péter Forgács).

The feeling of loss in the film makes me return to the family archive, revisit those images and search for the memories within. I keep returning to this archive because I find it fascinating. The material remains the same, but our perspective changes, and it is precisely this that lends value to creating cinema from the heart.
